The Ouroboros has many mythological, symbolic, and spiritual meanings. It is a sigil of integration of ones self, ones opposite nature. Devouring and consuming force which swallows you and feeds you at once. Death, and then new life, endlessly.
It is also used in alchemical illustrations, where it symbolizes the circular nature of the alchemist's opus, or Great Work. The endless quest, the wide circle around one self. On the back the ouroboros circles three symbols; Salt, Sulphur, and Mercury. Using alchemical imagery to represent three distinct states through which qualities manifest. The back was inspired, in no small part, by Peter J Carroll, Liber Null and the Psychonaut. Also I just plain like Ouroboros symbols.
I'll probably write an article of this nature in the future. What do you guys think?
